2026-2027 Elliott PTO Board Nominations - NOW OPEN

 

Elliott PTO is seeking nominations for Officer Positions for the 2026-2027 PTO Executive Board.

 

Please nominate PTO members you would recommend for a board position or if you have the time and interest to serve please nominate yourself.

Timeline

  • Submit nominations by Friday, March 20th.
  • A Slate of Officers will be presented by the committee.
  • Membership vote (yes or no) on the proposed slate, Starting April 17th
  • New Board announced at the last PTO meeting in April.

Description of Board roles:

 

President:

Lead and coordinate the work of the board, set agendas and lead meetings, compose and distribute communication from the board to membership, represent the organization at monthly STM meetings, serve as second signature on expenditures made by the treasurer, ensure compliance with bylaws, overseeing the budget with the treasurer and serve as the main liaison between the PTO, parents, teachers and school administration. Also, serve as a chairperson on a minimum of one event per year.

 

Vice-President:

Appoint and work as liaison with committee chairs for all events, maintain files detailing all events on the PTO drive, and perform the duties of the President in their absence as needed. Also, serve as a chairperson of one event per year.

 

Secretary:

Document the minutes of all meetings and maintain electronic files of documents presented at meetings. Maintain PTO membership directory & help maintain PTO website nd also serve as a chairperson of one event per year.

 

Treasurer:

Keep a full and accurate account of the receipts and expenditures, make disbursements as authorized in accordance with the approved budget, present a financial statement at every membership meeting, provide full access to the accounts for the Auditing Committee and work with the PTO's independent accountant to prepare and complete the annual 990 as required by the organizations 501(c)(3) status. Also, serve as a chairperson of one event per year.

 

Executive Board:

The PTO Executive Board is comprised of elected officers, a Teacher Representative, and the Principal of the school. Together, the Executive Board transacts necessary business in the intervals between meetings of the organization; creates and/or dissolves standing and special committees; presents a report at each meeting of the organization; and prepares and presents a financial budget for the school year.
